The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of the Triangle NC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to representing nonprofit professionals in the greater Triangle region of North Carolina. Whether you call Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, or another surrounding Triangle community home, we are here to support you.
Mission
Our mission is to cultivate and support young nonprofit professionals in the Triangle by fostering networking, skill-building, and resource-sharing.
History
The birth of our chapter took place at a local bar in Raleigh back in 2009 (surprise, surprise). After discussing the broader national movement of supporting nonprofit leaders, YNPN Triangle NC worked to establish its roots in the Piedmont nonprofit sector. We are a federally recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a working volunteer Board of Directors.
In the beginning, YNPN Triangle NC focused on providing networking socials exclusively in Raleigh. Over the years, our geographic targets have expanded to offering socials, a conference, professional development workshops, and other networking opportunities in Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Cary, and beyond. We host in-person events each month; highlight job and volunteer opportunities through our website and listserv; and create space for emerging leaders to get involved with the organization by serving on one of our committees or on our Board of Directors.
We are proud to be a member of YNPN National. YNPN is a national 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit organization that engages and supports future nonprofit leaders through professional development, networking, and social opportunities.

Our focus is on people, not organizations. We want to offer our members a casual, safe space for practicing skills and asking questions. Navigating the nonprofit landscape isn’t always easy, especially if you’re new to the sector. We want to help build up, equip, and empower emerging leaders in our Triangle nonprofits.
Membership is free. Unlike other professional organizations, you can have access to a network of resources and people at no annual cost.
