Becoming a Better Public Speaker

As nonprofit professionals, public speaking is often integrated into the day-to-day activities of our work: presenting ideas to coworkers, sharing our impact with donors, and engaging with stakeholders in our communities. Being an effective public speaker can advance nonprofit missions, form strong collaborations, and build support for projects. However, research indicates that public speaking is often cited as people’s biggest fear, which can prevent people from speaking up and sharing ideas.

Join us on Thursday, August 30 to learn helpful tips on how to become a more effective public speaker in your nonprofit work. Our presenter Patricia Harms, Clinical Professor of Management and Corporate Communication at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, will share helpful strategies for:

  • Presentation delivery
  • Understanding your audience and presentation planning
  • Effectively communicating ideas through storytelling

This is an opportunity you do not want to miss! RSVP today to save your spot.

Light refreshments will be provided.
