My question is, does anyone know what else needs to be done here? Our payroll software is continuously asking us for an unemployment tax ID number but apparently we don’t need it. Federal unemployment is withdrawn automatically.

I recently started working with a nonprofit out of MN. We’ve been trying to get set up with North Carolina unemployment security, but after talking with someone there and reading their tax requirement page it looks like we don’t need to be set up with NC since we only have 1 employee (me) based here (From des.nc.gov: A 501©(3) non-profit organization with at least four workers in 20 different calendar weeks during a calendar year.)
