Making Career Headway in the Right Way

Whatever phase of your career you are in, join the YNPN Triangle community for a panel and table discussion about how you can make the most of your nonprofit career. One of the best attributes of being a nonprofit professional is that the sector is your oyster – you can do so many different and wonderful things with your career, but how do you choose? There are so many workshops, certifications, conferences, and board openings; how do you figure out which of the many great opportunities is right for your specific career path within the nonprofit world?

Join our dynamic nonprofit panel made up of young leaders at different stages of their careers – entry-level, mid-career, and senior leader/executive. Our panelists include:

  •       Meredith Richards, Executive Director of Musical Empowerment
  •       Malenia Swinton, CEO of Communities In Schools of Durham
  •       Melchee Johnson, Freelancer to several nonprofits, and
  •       Julia Banks, Special Projects Manager

The event will start at 6pm with some light refreshments and networking. The panel will begin at 6:30pm and will last for about 30 minutes, followed by an audience Q&A. We will then break up into round table discussions – entry level, mid-level, and executive level. You will pick the table that best fits where you are in your career, and join your peers for an open discussion to share stories, advice, common mistakes, and learning from each other.
